It's mind-boggling, isn't it, that people can do something that ABSOLUTELY makes no sense... to us at least. It just goes to show that the essence of the problems in today's world are in people's minds, and that only a change of mind (heart) can bring solutions. No amount of politics helps in this case.

I've been trying to figure this out for a long time now -- how people can think that killing others makes the world better somehow. Trying to explain it to a preschooler who's only vaguely aware of what death is makes it even more stark. I know politics isn't the answer, but it's hard to keep uninvolved in it when society seems to be becoming more and more polarized. This might be part of the answer to Anumod's question about whether faith is overrated, I think.
